Fantastic effort boys, especially Damo, finally getting that bridesmaid monkey off your back. Well done. Snake, bad luck mate. I can honestly say I know what that feels like. Great effort Marcus and Roger as well.

Thanks guys
The day started pretty early for Snake Mark W and myself, we left my place at 5.00am to get Snake up there in time for his 9.36 start. In cold and misty conditions Snakes day came to an abrupt end 2 km in. A puncture in the disc put an end to any chance of glory. His team car following 5 min behind gave him a spare and he couragously carried on. We followed Roger for awhile, he seemed to be riding well put in a good time but could only manage 5th overall. Without seeing final placings the top 5 were covered by 15 seconds. Myself and Mark W were off at 12.45 and 12.44 respectively. Not beinging seeded I would have to wait for last years podium getters and ACTs Michael Tolhurst to see how I went. The course was as bad as we remembered it. Fast bumpy and dangerous. The intersection where we started was total mayhem when the Elites were riding, just a complete joke, how no one had an accident is beyond me. Mark W rode a great race with a time of 27.40 for a well deserved 9th place. My winning time was 26.28 9 seconds up on second place. Very happy with the result, well worth the effort to go up. Fenz set his usual blistering pace and smashed everyone winning by almost a minute with a 25.34. Very impressive but also expected. The guy who ran second to him had the most ILEGAL TT bike I have ever seen. We were very tempted to corner a commisaire Fenzs time was the quickest Masters time out of all categories, mine was third. A long day but rewarding, Snakes impressive run of Bronzes came to an end, but there is always Nationals Greg Damo |
